Yoga Studio Etiquette

To help maintain a calm and clutter-free space, please remove your shoes before entering the studio and place all personal items in the cubbies provided or securely in your car. Be sure to silence your phone and watch before class begins. While we do our best to keep the space safe, Sacred Moments is not responsible for any lost or stolen belongings.

Out of respect for those with sensitivities, we kindly ask that you avoid wearing perfume, essential oils or scented lotions to class. Even subtle fragrances can be distracting or overwhelming in a shared space.

Please plan to arrive on time and stay through the final resting pose, savasana. This essential part of class allows your body and mind to fully absorb the benefits of your practice. It’s a time to reset, release and reconnect - without it, the practice is incomplete.

We encourage you to arrive well-hydrated, as traditional yoga philosophy recommends avoiding water during practice to preserve the body’s internal energy and digestive fire. If you do need a sip - especially during heated classes - please do so mindfully. Aim to hydrate before and after class rather than during.

We recommend bringing your own yoga mat and a small towel for sweat. Using your own mat is more hygienic and helps you build a deeper connection to your practice and it becomes your grounding space, class after class. If you don’t have one yet, no worries! We offer mat rentals for $2.

Yoga is a personal and inward practice that benefits from a calm, quiet environment. While we love the sense of community, please save conversations for before or after class, outside the studio space.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely without restriction. Choosing attire that’s modest and non-distracting is a thoughtful way to support a focused and welcoming space for all.

Before class begins, let your teacher know if you have any injuries, physical limitations or if you prefer not to receive hands-on assists. This is your practice! Listen to your body and honor what feels right for you.

If you borrow a mat, please wipe it down after use and return all props neatly to their designated spots. This helps keep our space clean and welcoming for everyone.

Your presence matters. Please be mindful of how you show up and interact - with kindness, openness and respect for your teacher, fellow students and yourself. A supportive attitude creates space for everyone to grow and feel at ease.

Yoga is more than movement! It's a personal journey of self-discovery. Don’t be afraid to laugh, cry or stumble along the way. Let go of perfection, stay curious and allow yourself to grow. The magic happens when you step out of your comfort zone! Play in your practice!
