New Moon Yoga Nidra with Live Sitar
February 11 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm$25.00
Join us under the energy of the New Moon -a time for planting seeds. Realign. Start fresh.
The class begins as Suepriya leads you through 15 minutes of a gentle, restorative practice to prepare the body and mind for relaxation and deep rest during the guided Yoga Nidra meditation. Yoga Nidra is an accessible method of relaxation for all ages and all levels. By focusing on the breath, and rotating the consciousness through specific regions of the body, the practice of Yoga Nidra facilitates a deeper state of alpha and theta wave relaxation. Once the guided portion of Yoga Nidra is complete, continue to relax as you listen to the live sounds of the Sitar gradually integrating the mind and body back to conscious awareness. The combined effects of sound therapy and Yoga Nidra may release stress and anxiety, improve concentration and memory, and promote restorative brain activity.
Suepriya is a lifelong student of Ayurvedic, Tibetan, and Chinese medicine. Her approach to health, balance and well-being is rooted in a lifestyle aligned with Nature. At the age of 18, she studied Hatha Yoga in India, which led her to complete her Yoga Teacher
Training two years later. Suepriya has studied classical violin and piano from the age of 5, as well as Indian classical music. She welcomes any opportunity to integrate and share her passions with others.
